Product description

THE SYNERGY OF VITAMINS D3 + K2

Vitamin D and vitamin K play a major role in bone health (Reference).

Vitamin D is synthesized naturally by the skin during sun exposure: the winter period or office work generate a low synthesis of vitamin D, which is essential for the immune system and muscle function .

Vitamin K plays an essential role in blood clotting. The form naturally produced by bacteria in the digestive tract is the K2 form. It plays an essential role in cardiovascular health.

The vitamin D + K2 MK7 complex is therefore the ideal supplement for bone health, cardiovascular health and for the immune system especially in winter.

➻ Vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 allow good absorption and good use of calcium and phosphorus which helps maintain strong bones.

➻ Vitamin K2 allows normal blood coagulation and thus promotes the health of the vascular system.

➻ Vitamin D3 helps maintain normal muscle function and a normal immune system

➻ Vitamin D3 also helps keep teeth healthy health

Vitamin D is a so-called "fat-soluble" vitamin, that is to say that it is soluble in fat. It is of course found in food in fatty fish (such as sardines and salmon), egg yolk, cod liver oil and more surprisingly, certain mushrooms such as chanterelles or raw chanterelles. Dietary intake of vitamin D is said to be exogenous.

As a guide: To reach the minimum recommended daily amount of 400 IU, you must eat: 8 eggs, 200g of salmon or 15L of milk - every day!
The body itself is capable of synthesizing vitamin D3 (endogenous source) by a chemical process involving a reaction between the UVB (ultra-violet B rays) of the sun and the cholesterol present on the surface of the skin. Indeed, vitamin D is produced under the action of UVB rays which protolyze cholesterol in the skin into pre-vitamin D. The latter will then undergo 2 hydroxylations to be transformed into active vitamin D
There are several forms of vitamin D, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol). Vitamin D2 (derived from plants) is the least effective since it is not properly stored and is difficult to transform into active vitamin D3.
Vitamin D is responsible for a number of functions in the body:
➪ Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus➪ Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones➪ Vitamin D contributes to normal calcemia➪ Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance normal muscle function➪ Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal teeth➪ Vitamin D contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system➪ Vitamin D plays a role in the process of cell division
Vitamin D deficiency: An unfortunately common problem
Vitamin D deficiency remains a global problem, approximately 1 billion people worldwide are experiencing inadequate levels. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) estimates that vitamin D deficiency in France affects 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 6 children - that's 10 million of us! The SUVIMAX-OS study also concluded that "French city dwellers very often have an insufficient dietary intake of vitamin D to compensate for the lack of sunshine".
Although the recommendations state that with only 50g of salmon per day one could meet the daily vitamin D3 requirements (estimated at 15µg/d or 600UI/d) , this intake is actually insufficient in 80% of cases. Indeed, it has been estimated that the daily requirements amount to 75 IU/kg/d, i.e. between 4000-8000 IU/d for a healthy adult (considering that endogenous synthesis is nil). However, since most of the needs are covered by synthesis at the level of the skin through exposure to the sun, but a very large part of the population is not sufficiently exposed, food is not enough to meet the daily vitamin D3 requirements. This is supported by the ESTEBAN study.
Signs of vitamin D deficiency can manifest as a weakened immune system (frequent colds. ), fatigue with a drop in muscle tone, poor bone health (osteomalacia, rickets or osteoporosis) and dental health (weakened enamel) or even a bad mood and attacks of tetany and convulsions in the most severe cases.
If you regularly suffer from any of these symptoms, it could be a sign that you are lacking in vitamin D!
Factors affecting the absorption or synthesis of vitamin D3 are as follows:

➣ Insufficient exposure to the sun

➣ Skin pigmentation (dark skin)

➣ Sun creams over 15 SPF

➣ Make-up of the skin

➣ Aging

➣ Confinement (elderly people in institute , children. )

➣ Poor, vegan or vegetarian diets

➣ Geographical location (areas with little or no sunshine)

➣ Time of year (winter and autumn seasons)
