Borage (Borago officinalis) is a plant native to Syria, today present throughout the Mediterranean basin. The seeds, from which the oil is extracted, are particularly rich in gamma linolenic acid (GLA).
This polyunsaturated fatty acid, from the omega-6 family, has many nutritional benefits. Indeed, Borage Oil and gamma linolenic acid are traditionally used against certain symptoms of menopause and premenstrual syndrome disorders as well as for moisturizing the skin and hair. Recent studies also demonstrate its interest in limiting joint pain, with the same effectiveness as Krill Oil.

Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), an essential omega-6 fatty acid, supplements dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids. It is often recommended to consume omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids in a ratio of approximately 4:1 to maximize their health benefits.
