Borage (Borago officinalis) is a plant native to Syria, today present throughout the Mediterranean basin. The seeds, from which the oil is extracted, are particularly rich in gamma linolenic acid (GLA).

This polyunsaturated fatty acid, from the omega-6 family, has many nutritional benefits. Indeed, Borage Oil and gamma linolenic acid are traditionally used against certain symptoms of menopause and premenstrual syndrome disorders as well as for moisturizing the skin and hair.
