What is this?

Collagen Pro® is a dietary supplement based on hydrolyzed beef collagen peptides and vitamin C. Composed of three different types of collagen peptides: Fortigel®, Tendoforte® and Bodybalance®. This combination allows a supply of all types of collagen (I, II and II) as well as a targeting of the different tissues composed of this protein, namely the tendons, the ligaments, the joints as well as the nails, the hair and muscles. The added vitamin C is essential for the synthesis of collagen since it is a precursor in the process of biosynthesis of the latter.

Collagen peptides are hydrolyzed collagen, that is to say "pre-digested" proteins that are found in the form of free and easily absorbable amino acid chains. There are different forms of collagen (native collagen for example) but the most effective products are those that contain collagen peptides. Indeed, the hydrolyzation of long chains of amino acids into much shorter chains allows better absorption and use by the body. Here, the collagen peptides of the Bioactive Collagen Peptides® range are specific and allow, for example, partial survival to digestion and therefore the crossing of the intestinal barrier while remaining intact.

the peptides in Bioactive Collagen Peptides® stand out for their high concentration of proline and glycine, which form bonds that are more resistant to degradation by digestive enzymes. In addition, they maintain their unique, longer and thinner helix structure, which improves stability and favorable folding properties that facilitate their absorption. It is estimated that approximately 10% of the collagen peptides offered by the Gelita brand remain intact at the time of digestion, which demonstrates effective bioavailability, penetration into the bloodstream and optimal and rapid utilization. The other peptides are broken down into amino acids used as building blocks for the various other tissues.

Fortigel® : This is a unique bioactive collagen peptide supplement developed by the German company Gelita and is used for the purpose of activate the cartilaginous metabolism and therefore the effectiveness has been scientifically proven in numerous studies. It consists of Bioactive Collagen Peptide®, a composition of different specific peptides, optimized to maximize the stimulation of the types of human cells involved in the biosynthesis of collagen. The exact composition of the product is not specifically described but it contains about twenty different amino acids including 3 specific ones (glycine, proline and hydroxyproline) which target the production of new collagen in the body. The specificity of Fortigel® is that the collagen peptides have been chosen with the aim of maximizing the stimulation of a type of human cells in particular, namely chondrocytes, cells which produce cartilage and also synthesize collagen.

Tendoforte® is a peptide supplement of bioactive collagen also developed by the German company Gelita. It is used to increase the health and quality of ligaments and tendons and its effectiveness has also been scientifically proven in several preclinical and clinical studies, especially in combination with physical activity. It also consists of Bioactive Collagen Peptides®. Its specificity is that the peptides have been chosen with the aim of specifically strengthening tendons and ligaments as a preventive measure and also to reduce the incidence of sports injuries and the recovery time of performance levels after injury.

Bodybalance® is also a composite product collagen peptides of Bioactive Collagen Peptides® from Gelita. These peptides have been shown to be highly specialized and to reduce fat mass and increase lean mass (muscle mass + bone mass + connective tissue + body water). They would also provide more muscle strength in combination with strength training. Bodybalance® has demonstrated its effectiveness in various studies, particularly in improving mobility in healthy individuals, although it is the subject of ongoing research. Indeed, Bodybalance® would stimulate the metabolism of fats and muscles leading to a better body composition. Thus, the collagen peptides of Bodybalance® are specifically chosen to play a role in muscle cells and fat metabolism.

Finally, the vitamin C added to the formulation of Collagen Pro® is essential for the synthesis of collagen. Indeed hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine are components of collagen. Without ascorbic acid, the activity of the two oxidases allowing the hydroxylation of proline and lysine are reduced and collagen synthesis becomes incomplete. Indeed, ascorbic acid is the cofactor of its hydroxylation enzymes by the oxidation of iron Fe3+ to Fe2+ which is necessary for the activity of these two oxidases.

Collagen is the main protein in connective tissue (supporting tissue that protects the organs it surrounds) and the most abundant in the body (30% of total protein). Its main functions are to ensure the cohesion of all tissues, to guarantee the elasticity and integrity of the skin, cartilage, tendons and ligaments as well as bones. During natural aging, the synthesis of collagen slows down, leading to a progressive degradation of collagen fibers (the skin thins and wrinkles appear, loss of bone mass, joint pain due to loss of cartilage, etc.) Collagen, unlike all the others sources of protein, has a very specific composition of amino acids which gives it unique functional properties. These amino acids provided in large proportion (glycine and proline/hydroxyproline) are those found in the skin, bones and joints of the human body, which explains its specific action on these tissues.

At the level of the skin, the collagen fibers allow the maintenance of the structure and the firmness of the skin as well as the stability of the elastin (guaranteeing the elasticity of the skin) and the hyaluronic acid (guaranteeing hydration). The activity of collagen-producing cells decreases with age, so the supply of collagen peptides allows these functions to be maintained. A clinical trial showed that collagen peptide supplementation increased skin hydration, decreased collagen fragmentation (deterioration) in the deeper layers of the skin over time, and increased same time the density of the collagen fiber layer.

At the bone level, collagen peptides would stimulate osteoblasts (cells responsible for bone formation) without affecting osteoclasts (cells that resorb tissue bony). Thus, collagen would promote the renewal of bone tissue while preserving its mineral density and improving its solidity and resistance over time.

At the cartilaginous level, a study conducted by the Collagen Research Institute (CRI), showed that supplementation with collagen peptides stimulated cartilage cell metabolism (stimulation of chondrocytes) and increased the production of aggrecan, a proteoglycan essential for cartilage function. Bioactive collagen peptides would therefore stimulate the synthesis and regeneration of the extracellular cartilaginous matrix and delay the onset of pain, tenderness or stiffness of the joints associated with age and sport.

Finally, collagen has secondary functions such as maintaining healthy hair and nails. Indeed, collagen peptides are used by cells to produce keratin (protein that makes up hair and nails).

Se dissous très bien et n a aucun goût contrairement à certains que j ai testé sur d autres site mais qui du coup étaient presque impossible a boire.
